I started my career as a volunteer Firefighter. I then figured out what I really wanted to do when I grew up. I went to EMT school then to the Fire Academy. After break of about 9 months I went through the Police Academy. I made it through all of the academys while working a full time job. I first was hired as a Firefighter EMT then recruited to my current job as a Public Safety Officer--Firefighter/EMT and Police Officer.
Was interested and started my career as a volunteer Firefighter. I found what I loved to do and made a career out of it

hey Jeff I found your story interesting. I just finished EMT school and was set on becoming a police officer until very very recently. Now I'm thinking about fire...or maybe both. How does this work for you?
thats great man. I work full time for the Street Dept here in Trophy Club and volunteer out in the homeland, Wise County. A number of TC firefighters are reserve police officers as well so I thought about trying that. Initially I was all blue but after EMT school and several serious incidents with the VFD I'm at, I've thought about going fire.
