Why I Joined Fire/EMS
For the challenge, years ago I was told women can not do the job; so I took the challenge. And NEVER looked back.
I love the excitement and the adrenaline rush.

    Working with K9's is a rewarding endeavor. Especially when they are at a point where you try to trick them and they tell you to talk to the paw. The pride just wells in ones heart. Each dog works differently and to watch how one gets the scent and works it in is pretty fascinating. Right now I am looking for my next puppy. I have waited patiently for my breeder to have pups but she is quite picky and 2 years later has no pups available. So I am currently visiting good strong kennels within N Calif. There are a few, but not one that has got me interested enough for one of their pups.

    We are still working on the basic's simple rubble piles, directionals, this guys just turned 4 so he is my training dog I just had a litter of puppies not from Riger but 2 of my other dogs and I am in the process of puppy testing them. They will be 7 week's Friday and more test to follow . So hopefully I will have a new partner to really start working with even though Ruger is decicated he has some issues. We are strictly live find the FD will not sponcer us if he is HR. I just figure a day with the dog wheather good or bad is always a great day. good luck on your puppy search.

    The fire academy has gone from City of Naples to Collier Fire Academy to North Naples Fire Training Center in less than 3 years. I little turbalance but So far we have turned alot of things around and it is running great. Instructors from all the agnenices are teaching . We have put about 75 students per year through . This year will be interesting with the fire academy since we have tax reform up for a vote for the general public to vote on. Most of us on the job are concerned about keeping current jobs, and the new recruits are concerned about getting hired at all.. Shoud be interesting in the next few months. We had a student come through named Rambo, and relatives here still here. Good kid I hope he stays with it.

    Hi I just returned form the Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Colorado, without my dogs what a long week. The memorial was unbelievable. Glad to be home, need to get busy with the dogs I have a CGC test for 4 of them next week. Shouldn't be to hard for them but without training for almost 2 weeks who knows what they will do.
