Since I am the wife, no I don't mind the calls at 2-3 in the morning. My husband does the same thing I do, so we just get up and go together.

It depends on average 5-6 calls. On a busy day around 12 on the ambulance. And the pumper ranges from 3-5 average, and on a busy day 10.

Things out my way have not been so good. We lost a deputy in the county which was also a fire/emt as well. It was a tough week and tough funeral to attend.

Awesome I have some new EMT's in my dept. and I try to give them the pt. as long as they feel comfortable. I sit (or stand) back and let them have at it. For the most part thry all seem to be reacting very well....... and for extra giggles I make them do the PCR...... LOL makes my paperwork less....... but I am glad your doing well keep it up and remember you make a diffrence in thier lives....

Just keep volunteering and maybe start with a smaller service... they are more likely to hire someone with less experince at first and allow you to grow with them.
