Why I Joined Fire/EMS
To tell you the truth, they talked me in to it. I really was not sure about the whole thing, started in a ECA class, and that led into Basic. Now i have been in this "crazy "world for 14 years. I would not trade it for anything,it is such a rewarding thing to me. I still get that rush when the tones drop

Hi Susan -- It's been a goofy morning, and the penguin and Tracy L brought me back to my senses. Hey, I've been to Pattison -- just off of I-10 right? Is Phoenix EMS still in biz? Should I post some of my EMS videos? Ciao, Lou

Great day it is, I'm off for the week... All the women have headed down to the States for shopping and it's just me at home. What more can a man ask for? Oh I know, they could of not left me a "Honey Due List!"..... Nice day, rest of the week is to be rain and cold. So time to take the tractor out and change the grass deck to the snow blower... Yea! How are things down your way?
  • Randy Macey

Just reading one of the post of what one would think of a 21 year old being chief. Just getting a grip that seems that some of the positions that are held are for only one year. Elected positions, such as Chief and Capt. thought that to be a little different than up here. But then again out of our 9 Stations they are each run a little different.
Well I hope you have a great time at the conference, we had ours during our summer where it was like 88. Now it's like 54 right now very nice day. Tomorrow it should get colder but today is almost still no jacket day...

Susan Love the photo's of the beach. Is that in Austin? the only places I ever got to in Texas was Dalls, Ft. Worth and the DFW airfield for a civil service test.
  • dan172

Susan we have had some snow, but lately all we seem to get is rain. the road crews are complaining since it cuts into their overtime pay for snowplowing. They complain when they get called out but they need wheelbarrels to take their paychecks to the bank. Christmas was good, I worked at the PD on Christmas eve. Only had one incident, Girl ran a stop sign in front of me. I took her home she had a the ussual couple of drinks. I refuse to arrest any one on christmas short of a capital crime. Night after we had a house fire. IT was vacant. no power, or gas utilities Neighbors heard two booms, and it was fully involved. I must be getting old, the alarm went off My son Chris cheered it was his first run as a senior Firefighter, I said SH** . I was glad It was a defensive firefight.

That was to funny, just dropping by... Well all is good up here in the Great White North, had a snow dumping. Seems as though we will be getting a warm front to make it into a ice rink. Got your skates? Calls have been slow which means all is good out there. Had one shift where 4 calls in a night, was a little busy. Two medical calls both with kids, hate kid calls. Parents can be a little harder to calm down with.... How are you doing?
  • Randy Macey

I'm just getting some rest, had a house fire yesterday around 4a.m. Finished around 6p.m. Long day, got a couple of trucks stuck due to the ice. But I have yet to have a call like yours, thinking of cutting off a body part just kind a goes out the window.... Well I'm being called back to that house we had, investigators want to review and check out cause... Chat to you later... Time to push the snow off the truck...
  • Capkurt

Thanks for the friend add. How's life in Pattison? Cold here. But we missed the foot of snow that hit Milwaukee. I saw Toby Keith when he came to Green Bay with Ted Nugent. Toby's a lot of fun.
  • Capkurt

Well, it's too bad it's cold for you. Just Kidding. It's 60 in my house right know as I write this. My furnace broke last night.
