Why I Joined Fire/EMS
After becoming a Jr. volunteer at the age of 14, I felt the 'need for speed'.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Knowing I made a difference in the outcome of crisis is an awesome feeling.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Stress Management, Crisis Intervention for providers in basic training (early).
Re-evaluate the system. (QA/Customer Service approach are morale killers and are creating high turnover rates. The 'customer' is NOT always right.) What happened to 'faith' in your providers and accountability?

Chec, I did my share on Medic 8 and 17 in my rookie days. I see you did some time at Reisterstown, do you remember Jimmy Bitz? I think he was a member in the late 70's

Best of luck with your book Chec. With my 17 years in the BCFD I have my share of stories people would NOT believe!

i will keep talking to her. I think that her biggest problem is that she has had nobody to talk to about this. I am suprised that her dept. didn't go though a debreifing immediately following that inccident.

I really appreciate you listening and giving me you advice. I am going to have to do something about the other officers but my rank is the only thing that lets me try to keep the guy's safe. I am going to tell them at they next meeting that they need to step up and start doing things.
