Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I first became interested when I was growing up and saw the Volunteers in my hometown. My Neighbor was Ret. Chief of GCFD and got me a lot of FD coloring books. Then I watched way too much Johnny and Roy...... before I knew it I was hooked.

Today I have a job I love at EMS, but I still volunteer because I love it.

Check out the some of the Groups, I have started up "Close Calls" an area to tell your story of what you did and should not of so others learn. "Roll Calls" this is another group that allows you to tell us about your station and district. "Trainers Corner" is another area that you can read about issues other trainers have or deal with. As well if your not a trainer you can ask questions or state concerns you have. If you have a hard time locating them just go to my site and look at the bottom left hand corner.

Enjoy, be safe and remember we all come home.

No...I have never worked in Anderson. Are you an Academy instructor? Maybe I have seen you in a class or at the Academy? Do you work full time for Belton?
  • Stephanie Childress

I was thinking that you might have helped with my rope rescue class. Well....you are close by! I know lots of people that work for Laurens!
  • Mike Sullivan

That is very possible, I used to teach a LOT of rope rescue classes, Did you got through SCFA 3310 ?
  • Stephanie Childress

I took it at Lake Cunningham FD in March. I think 3310 was the number. Shae Loftis was the main instructor. Was that you?? =)
  • Mike Sullivan

Nope, I was not in on that class, I know Shea well though and consider him one of the best rescue instructors that I have had the privilage to work with. So how long have you been with Belmont ?
  • Stephanie Childress

I have been with them almost 3 years. Shea is the man! His brother is the training officer in Oconee Co. and used to work at Belmont as well. They are both awesome guys. I am trying to find a pump ops class and would love to take it with either one of them.
