Training is fun, I enjoy learning new things everytime we drill. I have a good time and love the thrill of finally getting something right at a drill or on a call, by myself.
  • Shawn Blair

    Thats funny.

I don't know very much about Guelph at all, except one thing. The finest woman god ever built came to me from there. I am not allowed to cross in up there, they say that I'm a war criminal for the things I did under orders while in the Army.(Airbourne Ranger)I do my job 110% no matter what job I'm doing.
  • Kristen

same with us, but you know how companies get off duty. we love messing around with all the companies around us, and it's just too easy to mess with the paid guys instead of our fellow volunteers. when we have a job to do though, we're all business.

Only thing I did to Canada was steal one of your women. I was with a unit that did jobs the general public didn't need to know about.

thanks for the invite to the Roll Call forum. As for your other question, I was twice the size and half the age of the patient that kicked me in the head, but the fact that I already had a head/brain injury from a house fire fall was the killer. Yes, hard to believe I went back to work after the first accident...Tim

no never rolled a truck ,that is my worsted fear being a truck driver. we never had a incident in our station, but it did happen to a station around harrisburg pa where they killed a person in a car. not a good week for that department.

Keep up the BRAVE work Randy!
  • Tristan

Well, since I dont work and volunteer/work part time at the same place, it doesn't really affect me.
  • BRENT RAINES

    hay hows it going
  • Tristan

really? Its not that big of a deal here. I know a firefighter who works full time for one department, works part time for a neighboring department, and volunteers with a department that neighbors that one! He has a pretty good chunk of the west side that he calls home.

This pic appeared in the local paper a couple of years ago. The accident happened on Interstate 81 between Blountville and Kingsport, TN. I can't remember what the tanker was hauling, I think it was Methyl-Ethyl Bad Stuff!!! Anyway, the driver survived the initial crash, but died from burns a couple of days later. I dont think there were any other injuries.

I had a great weekend! I got to meet my future sister in law from the Ukraine. (No, my brother couldn't meet just any traditional American girl.) lol But she's a sweetheart and I'm looking forward to having her be a part of the family. I've definitely learned a lot about Ukrainian/Russian culture. I think it's fasinating.
Anyways, no calls this weekend so I had lots of time to visit.
So is Caledon a big city or a rural area or what? Let me know about your department. I'd love to hear about it!

    Hello Randy,
Yes I do carry a personal EMT bag in my vehicle. In all honesty I dont know what the name of the company I bought it from. When I did my EMT stuff i had to purchase it for my class. I am sure there should be a EMS website where you can purchase one. I will try to find out more info and then give you the update on where to get one. In any case I hope you have a good night and GOD bless.
