Its great to see juniors getting on board the site. I coordinate the development and education of our juniors here and love to see more young people getting involved.
Good luck with all your efforts in the fire brigade.
    Cheers

Junior Firefighter/Explorer can you explain this to a Trainer in Canada. Sounds interesting, we have an age cap of min. 21 to apply.
    Thanks

Composite fire department, there are about 15 that are classed as full time. This includes admin. staff, where the rest of the 225 are Vol. or Composite. Basically we are Vol. till the pager goes off then we are on a point system. When I joined, did not know we got paid. Got a cheque just before Christmas which was nice. Now in the States is it true Vol. or is it Paid Vol.?

Our Green Dots starting age is 21, have the same rules as what you carry for your Junior Firefighters
till they pass a test. From that point it usually takes them 1 or 2 years to pass.

There does not seem like a honest playing field for Vol. / Vol. Paid /. One of our stations has a day and afternoon crew. Then goes back to Vol. after 1a.m. and oh yea, they get weekends too. For our area fire halls we get a long pretty good.
