any ideas on how to get our FF EMS folks to let us know when they or their faimileis are the ones hospitalized?   I just learned one of my FF had surgery  a week ago.  I would have visitied, had I known.  so how do we get these folks to open up?

    basically you have to earn their trust. You have to build a good relationship with them and let them know you're there if they need you.

    I agree with Jeremy you have to get to know your folks. I get notification from my Bat. Chief's of the ones that are sick or in the hospital. I have found out that even though firefighters don't like the fuss over them they are glad to see you when you do come.
