  • Chaplain Gerta Coetzee

Hi Guys, I have been a Chaplain in the Emergency Services for the past 9 years. We are volunteers and our first line of priority is the Emergency Services & Law Enforcement crews. Secondly we serve the public (victims of violence, accidents, deaths ect) I would love love to her how you guys opperate in your areas.
Regards & Blessings, Chaplain Gerta Coetzee, South Africa

Greetings one and all. It is always good to see Chaplain Crutchfield is here in the midst of doing good work.

I've been a fire chaplain for over 25 years. I also served 14 months as an institutional chaplain at Cook County Jail in Cook County, Illinois (one of the most violent jails in America).

The thing I came to realize is there is always more to learn. The more classes (like CISM) the better assistance I can provide. Where ever you serve it is very important that we know enough about the jobs and how they serve or we are not going to be respected and trusted when things go badly and they need the assistance.

We did create a site for responders who do not feel they have that support locally or maybe feel they would like to support other responders through "bad days"... http://disasterresponders.ning.com

    Blessings

    Major David Ebel
    Chaplain

hello, all. may God bless each and every one of you. we all go through our battles in life and often times it can be overwhelming. one quote that i heard years ago keeps running through my head: "GOD WISELY TRAINS THE INSTRUMENT WHICH HE INTENDS GREATLY TO USE BY ALLOWING MOST UNEXPECTED AND OFTEN MOST UNDESIRABLE PROVIDENCES INTO HIS/HER LIFE." along with "ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHERFOR THE GOOD......" and "COUNT IT ALL JOY.....". the benefits in the end? well, i'll just say that i'm grateful that the Lord has called me to be an extension of His Arm. and i thank Him that He has people all overthe world just like you and i that are ready and willing to serve His people in this manner. Love ya, and be safe.

Please never cease praying Psalm 91. It has truly become the living word to me. I had a triple bypass last Monday. He has really protected me. Some day I'll tell more. Thom
