Hello all, I have set up a cruise to San Juan, St Thomas, St Marteeen. out of Miami. It is a 1st annunal firefighetrs cruise. Look over the event page or email me for more information. The cruise is march 7, 2009. we are getting special prices for being fire department. Also our vern own party one night on ship. Pass thye word and lets fill the ship with fire department people.
Hello everyone. Recently alot of people in my department have been getting tattoos so iam getting interested in getting one also. Any good ideas? I drew up an idea but idk how it will look as a tattoo. Its a maltese cross with our company number "4" in the center. With 2 pick head axes crossing behind the Maltese. And letters N E on the left outside and the letters F C on the right outside the cross, standing for our comapnies initials NEFC. and also on the outside of the bottom of the maltese is the word Firefighter. Also at the top on the outside of the cross are the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center with 343 written on the first tower and 9 11 01 on the second. Any suggestions for changes? please it would be very helpful. And color suggestions too. Thanks!
My advice to anyone wanting to get a tattoo is; Do not rush it! Don't forget that this will be with you for life. I know what it's like to get the fever, wanting it like a drug when you hear a tattoo gun running. Look around; there is plenty of ink out there to look at, ie; friends, internet, shops, etc. Most anyone will be glad to show you their ink and tell you the story behind it. Find what is appealing to you, something that says something about you. Most importantly; Find a reputable tattoo shop. Don't just go to the first one you run across. Check out their work! Not just in photos ( they usually look good, if they didn't they wouldn't be in their album) but find their cleints and look at their work first hand ( this will tell you alot). Sometimes it's worth a drive out of town to go to another shop. Go talk to the artist, if they are good they will take the time to set and talk to you. Sometimes what they learn by listening to you can spawn a great piece. In my opinion, they must have a feel of who you are and what you desire.
Best of luck guys!
Bill, very well said. I'd like to add that a great way to find a top notch tattoo artist is to check out the tattoo conventions. See if there is a show coming to your area, then check the websites of the artists who will be attending. Some of these show bring in the "worlds best" artists. MY artist, Anil Gupta, is from NY but I was able to get inked by him at the 1st massachusetts tattoo convention in 2001.
