i took the written test for a full time position with cleveland division of fire and am waiting to hear back to schedule my phyical test. unfortunately i did not acquire residency bonus points or military bonus points. but the test consists of a 175 lb dummy drag and the keizer sled and hose drag, i took the prep course for it thru don mnea fire school and the dummy drag drained me. anybody got any tips for exercises to help out or an easier way to carry him to conserve energy? we must complete the course within 7 minutes to qualify

the best way to do this (if 3 events drain you) is to squat down, hook your elbows under his armpits, stand up and while holding him close to you, start walking backwards. this way you should be able to conserve energy because youre using mostly leg muscles. (do this immediately after the stair master for 3:20 at 60 steps per minute)  this is the method I used on the CPAT, our dummy was 185lbs with gear.  time limit for the CPAT is 10:20, I completed in 8:20 for 9 events.

Condition and hydrate.
