If money is tight this is what you do.  If you have a volunteer dept around you go and work on getting on.  They will pay for your basic classes. If you don't have a Volunteer dept around you then go to step 2.

Go to your local fire school, Get your FFI, FFII, Hazmat Ops and EMT-B.  At this point don't waste your money on a degree. You've gotta get the basics done first.  Then go back and get your degree.

Pay out of pocket or look for grants. If you go to your local book store or amazon.com you can find books that have great resources on this. Use Google to find grands and scholarships.

Hey Brennan!

I have been a Volunteer for almost 4 years now. I have completed Basic Courses and am currently a Rescue team leader. BUT I live in Austria. I am an American that has lived here for 9 years and want to move back next year. Thank you so much for the offer! I have already sen you a friends request and would really appreciate you giving me some advice!
