4 stations dispatched (voly)

no changes from initial dispatch

staffing 6 on first two engines

size up two story residential structure with fire showing A/B side second floor ,504 establishes command

deployment of 2 1/2  up stairs interior attack.

companies would assist in attack. no need to vent, 

RIT team assignment would  depend on staffing and most likely a n additional company dispatched.

First due, engine with 4. Will be attack.
Second due could be a truck or another engine. Engine would have another 4, Truck companies have Minimum of 3. Second engine would be
Back up like. First due truck would be search.
Attack crew would go through front door with a 1.3/4 line. Back up engine would take same size line in and protect the attack crew. First due engine would lay in a 3" supply line. The second engine should bring in another plug.
A residence gets 2 engine co. 2 Truck co.
Battalion chief, squad, safety chief and the PIO chief

What would be your area's initial assignment for a house fire?

Initial alarm would bring in 4 engines and 2 trucks; with 2 rescues as well; SRN brings in I believe another engine and Rescue. 

With additional calls reporting a working fire, would there be any changes to the initial assignment?

Chief may strike SRN to fill out the box prior to arrival, but wouldn't strike a 2nd alarm of any sort until on scene.

What would be the staffing of your first two pieces of apparatus responding?  Would any mutual aid companies be responding?

100% Volunteer - My engine may have 3-4 pending time of day. 1 hydrant, 1-2 on primary, 1 pump operator. Initial ladder co. may have 3-4 pending time of day. We are super light during daytime hours. the struggle has hit our area pretty hard. 

What would be your initial size-up report?

If I was first on scene I would report a working fire, 2-1/2 story residential, Fire showing from A/B corner through the attic. I would return to fullfill this report by following up with bystanders regarding occupancy and possible hazards, hydrant locations and assignments.

What would be you first hoseline selection?  Where would that hoseline be deployed?

1-3/4 line through the front door, for initial line. Unless I was able to visibly see the fire growing faster then I can read in these pictures, that would make me pull a 2-1/2. 

What instructions would be given to additional companies responding?

Secondary water supply set up ASAP; Hydrant-assist-valve pumped ASAP; 

What company, in your area, would be assigned rapid intervention duties?

Upon arrival of SRN companies RIT is assigned.

4 on the first, 2 to 4 on the second.  No automatic aid.

What would be your initial size-up report?

Heavy fire A/B corner and full involvement of the attic space, 142 is command.

What would be you first hoseline selection?  Where would that hoseline be deployed?

Seriously my first hoseline would be the deck gun into the D side attic space. When that fire is knocked down 2 - 2 inch handlines to the second floor.

What instructions would be given to additional companies responding?  Bring your own water.  Primary search needs to be completed.  Stay off the roof.

What company, in your area, would be assigned rapid intervention duties?

First arriving squad or ladder on the MABAS box.


Sorry guys, I disagree with putting firefighters in that building until we get some control of the attic fire.  Other than perhaps for a quick primary search.

Inital Dispatch is 3 company's 3 engines, a Quint, A heavy rescue, and A ladder for RIT.Upon declaration of a WF and extra engine and ladder will be dispatched. Quint with 5 ff's would be first due taking a 3" Blitz line to second floor. Second due engine 4 ff's would grab water supply, Also would stretch a second line to back up The blitz.
