I was wondering if there are any fire photographers out there.  I know it is a rare breed of people, however, some departments have them already and some are starting to think about it.  I would like to see how many of us there are since I am one and where you are located.  ONLY SERIOUS REPLYS PLEASE. Thank You

Thank You Chris.  The cameras that I currently use are:

FujiFilm FinePix S1500  10mp w/ 12x optical

Kodak EasyShare M530 12mp w/ 3x optical

My old camera I used before I became the photographer and got more into it was a FujiFilm FinePix S3100  4mp w/ 6x optical

The antique camera that I still have and my dad used for his primary camera on fire scenes when he was a ff / fire investigator  is: Vivitar 35mm with the old fashioned slide lever for normal or zoom photos.

I also use a lite duty tall tripod, a heavy duty monopod (I just got the monopod from a relative that did a lot of photography for her job before retirement), a small extendable tripod that goes up to 18'', and a bendable tripod.  The bendable one works good with my small Kodak as it can be mounted to many items including the mirrors on the trucks.

Hope this helps

Here are a few more photos for you to enjoy.

Ron

Just posted some new pics the wife took at our last fire. Check'em out if ya wish.

Thanks Chris, I will check them out.

Chris, I went to the youtube channel and see the same videos.  I could not find your dept. website to check them out.  Is if possible for you to post a link for me.  Thanks

Ron here is our recruitment video we only have 2 videos on youtube. So I'm not sure what ya mean.

I looked at both videos.  I could not find the dept. website to check out the new photos.  Sorry for the confusion

I found them Chris.  Very nice photos.  I have a couple of photos that the Chief took of me with one of my cameras participating in the Citizen's Fire Academy. It is of me going up in the snorkel bucket with a dept member and two citizen academy members so I could try to get some aireal shots.  The dept member wouldn't keep the bucket steady enough so most of them came out blurry.  The station has one of me from just a month or so ago during rope rescue training of me taking photos at the training.  Funny thing though about it, the dept member who took it zoomed in on my face so all you see if more of my camera covering my face than my face with me having the camera lower.  I will see if I can get a copy of it.  I will add some of my photos to the album on here sometime in the near future.  Thanks for sharing.

Here is a site that has Photos of fires from Indianapolis and the surrounding area.
