verizon wireless discounts

I received a flyer from Sprint saying they offer a 22% discount to Fire Rescue Personnel on select cell phone plans... Does anyone know if Verizon does something similiar? I emailed them, and they said no, however I thought I heard an aquaintence of mine say they do... (for the life of me, I can't remember who..)

I believe it is new... we picked up this flyer at the chiefs convention in Massachusetts a few weeks ago...

I had the discount until two months ago when Verzion took it away and said plan not there any more. Has anybody else experienced this?

I originaly set it up for our dept. can't remember how I did it and if anybody else on the dept took advantage of it.

I know Verizon does in my area. However, since I am not the primary on our family plan, I don't think that it applies - or that's what I was told.

But yes, they do give it where I live. I think someone said it was about 15% or so, which is better than nothing during these tough times.

And the nice thing is that you most likely have other competitors that probably would give a discount, or perhaps honor that one. You could also bring such info back to the company you're currently with to have them keep your discount plan. Otherwise if they don't want to honor it, then I would find another provider.
