Great tool to have anywhere!

Check out these paracord bracelets and other items. You never know if the bracelet might come in handy. Many of my friends that are firefighters have these. I am getting one.

They are a "cool" accessory to wear, and if you are an "outdoorsman" you may come across a need/application for its use. On your wrist, on the fire scene? I am not going to pull off my glove, and "fight" with my coat wristlet to get it off, to use it. A better idea...Put one in your coat pocket. Remember the rope is "No Good" if you don't practice your knots...

Derek,

The problem here is that, when a person joins a vollie department, they ALWAYS get a tee shirt and get issued a pager. Sadly, if they didn't show up with a brain, they don't get issued one. But they do have the tee shirt!

Then there's the fact that the nylon can melt to your skin if you get into a high-heat area and make your bad burns worse.

I'm thinking that artificial fabrics (nylon) that melt at relatively low temperatures aren't something I want to wear next to my skin when firefighting.

That is a good idea! Wear it all day and take it off and place it in your coat pocket while enroute to a call.
