i know

so to prove you were here let us see those tattoos... on your _________ again...

i hear ya...

when I lived in Vermont - I would drive 3 1/2 hours to Boston, Mass. just for lunch - and then back to Vermont in the same day... lol

dating ??? I could spend $600 with my partner for the day at an amusement park... or spend $600 for an airline ticket/hotel, etc. for a weekend long date in their/your town

here in los angeles we often drive 5-6 hours in a day, every day even, for wor or social reasons - it is extremely common and expected and more often than one would expect, accepted... since the benefit outweighs the cost

it is interesting what can be accomplished in a short drive... or plane trip...

I think flying in for a few weekends together (the one flying in can stay in a hotel nearby where their partner lives) can quickly give you an idea if you want to pursue a deeper relationship with that person - and then you can worry about the day-to-day process of how close you live to each other.

every relationship has barriers to over-come... sometimes the barrier is distance... but the rest is quite on track and fulfilling...

one thing I have discovered is that a lot of people that meet online - often are open to moving to new places - so the location of the person they are meeting is not that great of a barrier in the long run.

like myself - i can live anywhere in the world right now - so i can date anyone in the world - and could move if i wanted to live closer to someone to build more of a relationship.

i have quite a few friends who have moved to the town where their online partner lives - several worked out - several did not. None of them report being upset about moving to be closer to their partner as their relationship progressed.

I know people who regularly drive 1/2 way each to meet in the middle. Thus a few hours each.

I think as we age, we become less interested in constant attention and more interested in quality attention and we value different things in our relationships like respect, genuine appreciation, and support for our goals and successes and who we are a people. We become more interested in good quality companionship, instead of lots of so-so relationships, just because they are nearby, easy, or convenient.

.
lol - if I can say - with age - we would rather have a juicy superior piece of prime rib once a week, than 3 cheap less-than-satisfying hamburgers a day

I DON'T KNOW... WHAT DO ALL OF YOU THINK ???
Lady Heather, I can truly say that after all these decades I have now discovered quality in a partner that has never been there in any others.

It has taken the sum total of our life experiences to make us what we are and to give us the freedom to have the unique relationship we share.

Soulmates finally, but I am single and will remain so. My choice.
Yes - it can be very good to be single - if that is one's choice.

I see so many heart-broken because they have not found a mate, let alone a soulmate... or two...

I am excited to hear your wisdom "the sum total of your life experiences" - I find this to be so true as well - my relationships now are much deeper with much greater substance than in my teens and 20's.

Do tell how should one go about finding their soulmates... so many seem discouraged and beaten down to the point of giving up the process...

I have found relationships NEED TIME AND ATTENTION - life seems so scattered now into thousands of directions - who focuses on relationships anymore ???
I found out there are 11 single marriage-eligible royal family members in the world...

if any of you are looking ;-)
Nice Eric... So do tell... what do they all mean?
