Wow, just made it back from FDIC, New Hampshire welcomed us to 28 degree temps and alot of tired eyes. Thanks in part to a night of networking at the FFN Meet and Greet, hosted at O'Reilly's Irish Bar, then we were off to many more hospitality rooms throughout the city.

Fire Engineering, Editor in Chief - Bobby Halton

For those who came to my class, "Interior Benchmarking".... Excellent class participation and I read every instructor critique. Some stated best class of the week!

To F.E., Pennwell and all the sponsors that put in tons of hours and $$$ to host the greatest show around. Thanks for the opportunity to network nationally and internationally!

What a wonderful experience for you and those attending. Who are you standing next too?

CBz
Congratulations and I remember seeing you last night, but I had no idea that was you. Stay safe,
Jason
CBz yes, that is Bobby Halton Chief Editor of Fire Engineering Magazine. A person for which I have wanted to meet in person for a long time.

Sorry we didn't get to meet Jason. The one thing I would suggest for the next FFN Meet / Greet, would be that when they shut the music off for the raffle, that they went around the room and asked each person to introduce themselves. I spoke with Chris Naum and had to ask who the "players" were in the room, but I was introduced to who he was sitting with.

I got to meet Tiger and that was cool. Finally put a face to the name as we most often communicate behind the computer keyboard.

All in all a good show.

What continues to amaze me about FDIC, is how a fire service conference draws such great diversity and wide-range of demographics. I always poll my audiences, and when you have an attendees ranging from less than 2 years in the service, to well over 37 you have some really good, topic-related conversations on real personal experience(s). Coming off the conference is always good for rejuvenating one's mindset.
The bad news - some of us have to work for a living, so we were unable to attend.

The good news - you don't look a thing like Adam F. :-)

But seriously...are you planning to share your class in the same kind of depth in other times and places?
Ben,

I know, I know, I was actually working when I was there... Heck even on the plane ride home, I networked with a Battalion Chief from Rhode Island seated next to me!

As far as Adam F. well I did have a full head of hair when I first met the kid. He is a good guy and will do well for you guys down there. I wish him the best. My FDIC class on "Interior Benchmarking" was published in FE years ago. I used excerpts from my RPV-Rapid Victim Profiling and TIR-Thermal Insult Recognition programs to enhance the class. I am always willing to go on the road to deliver what I feel is cutting edge stuff.

For those who have yet to experience FDIC or a Firehouse Expo size event, you are missing out on a truly rewarding educational and career uplifting opportunity.
Give Adam a week and then ask him about how his Hazmat Tech class went.

Hey Ben, I may have been working but I needed to bring my wife along to tie my necktie :)
Bill, that is an excellent idea. I will make sure look for you next time. Are you going to be at FRI?
Take care,
Jason
