We are all familiar with standarized salvage operations using salvage covers and tarps...

Sometimes we even specialize our tarps for specific purposes.

And using a salvage cover for hazmat incidents... commonplace? I sure hope not! Please note the use of a 2.5-inch charged hoseline that is used to form a containment area in conjunction with DISPOSABLE rolls of plastic sheeting.

Do you carry multi-color tarps for MCI triage?

Note: No one says you have to always order yellow or red tarps, right? There are many different colors that are available to enable you to customize and organize things on the fireground when using poly-vinyl tarps.

Maybe you use them to provide a dedicated place for rehab?

With the exception of actually using a salvage cover or tarp to "cover" something, can you think of any other uses for the fire department salvage cover or tarps?

Mike, you forgot the use of making water chutes and basins with salvage covers.

ok... so maybe I might have purposely left out some of the more obvious uses. you probably figured out by now that I use graphics and images in most of my posts and responses... It's how I roll... pun intended...

We use them for making improvised portable dams, using ladders, fences, structures what ever is available to use, these are generally triangular and from there we use portable pumps for fire fighting or as a relay pump to another dam.

(Will have to dig out a photo from the archives if I have one or will photograph next time the guys and gals set one up.)
