It is with deep regret that we advise you Firefighter Harold Frey, age 46, of the Sandown, NH Fire Department died in the line of duty during ice rescue training this morning, January 16th, 2011 of an apparent heart attack.  He had been a longtime member of the Epping, NH Fire Department but had only been with the Sandown Fire Department for a few months.

Firefighter Frey had just gotten out of the water when he began to exhibit symptoms of not being able to breathe. He collapsed and was transported to the hospital, but despite everyone's best efforts he could not be resuscitated.

Our most sincere condolences to the Frey family and the members of the Sandown Fire Department, as well as his prior Epping Fire Department and other fire service friends and family.  Details will be forwarded when they become available.
