GRANTVILLE, Ga. - Authorities say two young girls are dead after a house fire in Coweta County.

Deputy Chief Todd Moore with the Coweta County Fire Department said fire fighters responded to a call about a blaze about 6 a.m. Sunday at a home in Grantville. Moore said the 5-year-old and 9-year-old girls were found dead inside their bedroom.

Moore said the girls' parents and five other children escaped. He said the girls' father was burned trying to rescue them. The victims' names have not been released.

The fire is under investigation.
