FENNVILLE, Mich. - A fire that swept through a west Michigan mobile home has killed a 24-year-old mentally impaired woman who lived with her parents.
The Kalamazoo Gazette says Dana Ann Lee died in the 2:20 a.m. Thursday fire that destroyed the family's home near Fennville in Allegan County. Her parents, 68-year-old Robert Lee and 63-year-old Georgia Lee, were joined by neighbors in making multiple attempts to save their daughter. All were overcome by heavy smoke.
Firefighters later found Dana Lee's body in a corner of the living room. Investigators said she escaped her bedroom, but could not get out of the house.
A cause of the fire has not been determined. No further details were released.
An investigation is ongoing.
