HONOLULU - An extra-alarm fire that damaged an apartment building in Honolulu has left at least 10 people homeless.

Fire officials say no injuries were reported in the Thursday morning blaze at 910 Piikoi St.

Officials told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser that the fire started in a vacant second-floor apartment.

Flames gutted the apartment and caused limited damage to an adjacent unit. The building's three apartments on the ground floor sustained water damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Is it just me, or does being homeless in Honolulu not seem that bad? I'd much rather be homeless in Honolulu than Chicago any day of the week!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make light of these people and their situation, I'm just sayin.
I'm sure you meant "lose" everything they own, and yes it is probably the worst time in their lives.
