i think its good because ever fire fighter is a need to a department jr or not

When I was a Jr Fire Fighter back about a year ago we did not have pagers, We were just starting to put together a ride along program witch would allow JR fire fighters to go to calls between certain times of a day, When this would start they would then issue the pagers. I have friends that are still in that department as a JR fire fighter and they still dont have pagers, go figure! I switched to a different department in my district once I turned 18, Now I am a full active fire fighter. In my opinion. I think that if the JR fire fighters are gonna go to calls they should have them. Depends on the company..... As far as Digital pagers, We just got word that they are going to start paging us across our cell phones. Currently we have the Digital county pagers and the Minitor 5.

Would you rather get stuck in the bathroom and not be able to know if the crew is going witout you? Pagers are vital.

well if we are qualified for ride along then yes, depending on department standards

I am the chief of my post. Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department has had an Explorer post for 35 years now. most of our Explorers are issued pagers, and full turnout gear. Our Explorers assist on scenes and are a very big asset. They also have their own officers, such as Chief, Asst. Chief, and Captain and lieutenant. If we are 16 we can respond to the station and respond out on the rigs as long as we have to topics done, we can respond on the rigs for everything except for mutual aid calls
