I posted this as a blog, but thought I might post it here as well. As my department prepares to attend the Coalition of Firefighters for the fallen brothers in Bridgeport, I am curious as to how we will be accepted by the career brothers. I've been a firefighter/EMT as well as a lieutenant for nearly 20 years, and I've heard my share of comments about volunteers not being real firefighters. Any thoughts here?
