Four Children Killed, Two Adults Injured in California Apartment Fire

FAIRFIELD, Calif. - Fire officials say four people, all children, have been killed in a fire in an apartment building in Fairfield.

Fairfield Assistant Fire Marshal Jerry Clark says when fire crews responded to the single-story fourplex around 9:10 p.m. Wednesday they found three of the children deceased. A fourth child died at a hospital.

He did not know the ages of the children.

Clark says two adult females were burned in the fire. One suffered burns to her hands. He did not know the extent of the injuries to the second adult.

Fire officials did not know the relationship, if any, between the children and the adults.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
