Does anyone have material or info on how to successfully use a ground ladder as a high point anchor as well as an aerial ladder?

Hey there.
Give Matt Adams a call at Rescue Response Gear. 888 600 9116; he will have some information to send you. I have seen a couple of vids and a few diagrams on it, but I can't remember where. The key is a stable and secure ladder. Rungs used in a distributive manner (more than one rung in a distributive and equalized manner) and of course, knowing the load and resultant.

Ground ladders are going out of favor for this application, as they are tested to only 600 lbs.
That's not close to being able to support a rescue load.

Aerial ladders are a different story, but keeping that operation safe is tricky, even if the ladder is designed for rope rescue. Few are.

This book was originally published in 1975 and republished in 2005 by his son, it is one of the "Bibles of Rope Rescue"
You can find some - not many - original copies and when you do, the originals are around $100 each no matter what the condition.

This book describes and details such things as "Ladder as a Derrick" Ladder Slides, and all sorts of other great rope rescue techniques and methods. You will not be dissapointed!!!!
