The "private" ambulance company up here in the Great State of New York in Rochester(rural/metro) they do transposts all over the country. The farthest they have been is to California. Only for the good doc's they have there.
The ALS units are spread out throughout the county. There are about 5 or so units in my county. The local ambulance co. is also a non-profit organization. They take care of all the bills and medical supplies (including rigs) through the bills they have had recieved. Transports to the hospital used to be free untill the ambulance split off from the fire department. The ambulance now has there own seperate base and 1 new rig that was paid for by the village/town(Im not sure which). Lima Ambulance does no do transports because they're volunteer.
