U.S. Fire Administration

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official line of duty death of Firefighter/Inspector Brian P. Waynant, Sr., 45 of the Wilmington Fire Department on March 1, 2010.

Firefighter/Inspector Waynant died after being struck, while on foot, by an Amtrak train.
The City of Wilmington is assisting the Delaware State Police and Amtrak Police with the ongoing investigation of the incident.

Additional information will be made available by the Delaware State Police which is the lead investigating agency on this case.
