U.S. Fire Administration

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official line of duty death of Firefighter Sandy Henry, 52, of the Northside Volunteer Fire Department on January 26, 2010.

Firefighter Sandy was working water supply and pumper operations at the scene of a residential structure fire when he collapsed from an apparent heart attack moments after refueling one of the motors. Firefighters and other responders worked to resuscitate Firefighter Sandy, but he succumbed to his injury.

My love, thoughts, and prayers to the family. May they find comfort in knowing while death weather unexpected or not is difficult but this person's life while cut short made a difference to the community and the lives impacted by their presence.
