NEW YORK - Fire officials say one person has died and five others have been injured in a fire that engulfed a three-story building in Brooklyn.

The fire was reported at 4:28 a.m. Monday inside an apartment building at 55 Harrison Place. The Fire Department says the dead victim was one of two people trapped by flames on the second floor. The other person suffered minor injuries.

Fire officials said four other people suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The blaze was declared under control at 6:37 a.m.

No other details were immediately available.
