Anyone besides me that went in to assist a crew, and finding no one on the nozel? This happened to me once. This was years ago , but you tend to remember these kinda things.

Walter, Apparently there was no accountability system in place, or it would of dictated who was where, and what assignment they were on. If it was me that happen to, I would exit immediately and find out what had happen, and where the miss communication break down was! There might of been a safety reason the crew bailed out, or something else took place, either way someone should of known what was going on. Need a little more insight into the situation, if you could provide it?
There 'was' actually an accountability system in place. But procedure at the time, with some exception, went out the window. The crew was still inside the structure, and regardless of rank in the fire service you never leave the hose. A far as I knew, this incident was the only one of this type..I hope, anyway.. Like I said, it was years past, and lessons learned!
What was the crew's reason for leaving the line while inside the structure?
There was no good reason at all..one of them was an instructor.
