Long Island Firefighter Collapses, Dies During Fire
HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. - A firefighter on Long Island has died while battling a blaze.
The Huntington Manor Volunteer Fire Department said the firefighter collapsed early Wednesday as he tried to put out a fire at the Uber Cafe bagel shop in Huntington Station.
The department said the firefighter was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name wasn't immediately released.
The cause of death is under investigation.
The blaze was reported at 3 a.m. Wednesday. It was contained about half an hour later.
Suffolk County police also are investigating the fire.

Thoughts and prayers for another fallen hero.
And it is not just morbid curiosity that makes me want to know Cause of Death. In commercial applications like restaraunts, there are usually several refrigeration units and I have a(unusually severe?) fear of phosgene gas.
Any further details would be greatly appreciated.

As a member of the Huntington Manor Fire Department it pains me to say the Line Of Duty Death of Chaplain Richard "Rev" Holst was the brother we lost this morning. He was driving by the Deli and called in the working fire. Shortly after the 3rd due trucks were on scene he collapsed from a massive heart attack. The Rev was 60 years old and recently retired from National Grid. He was Fire Police Captain for Huntington Manor and Chief Chaplain for the New York State Chaplains Association. I was there with the Rev when he collapsed, we found out he had passed upon returning to Headquarters to put the trucks back in service. Firematic Services will be Sunday 8pm at Huntington Manor Headquarters in Huntington Station, NY. The Rev was a great man to be around and always there when you just needed someone to talk to. RIP HMFD #50
