Hey Cory,
As you will see from most of the comments that come in, it's not for the money. You will see from most
of them, it is because they are caring people that like to help others, and give back to there community.

IT ALL STARTED AT 5 YEARS OLD WHEN WE HAD A FIRE- IT WAS RAINING AND I STOOD AT THE BACK DOOR AND TOLD THE FIREMAN THAT THEY COULDN'T COME IN BECAUSE MY MOM HAD JUST MOPPED THE FLOOR--TRUE STORY TOO....GREW UP HALF A BLOCK AWAY FROM THE FIRE STATION WENT THERE ALL THE TIME AND WHEN I WAS NEAR THE MAIN STATION ON THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN, USED STOP THERE TOO. JUST SOMETHING I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO, LOVE TO HELP PEOPLE, NEVER WAS IN THE MILITARY-- MY WAY OF SERVING OUR GREAT NATION

I agree with you, if you are in the fire dept. and expect money then you are doing it just because you are being payed!!

I like your story i joined to give back to the community and since im with a VFD i do it for free!
