Brother, and Sisters

The Blandford Fire Department was lucky enough to have the town buys us 12 new sets of gear this year. As we wait its arrival, we are trying to decide hat to do with our older sets. Per NFPA 1851, the gear must be retired next year. Some of it is in rough shape, some has never seen a fire. If anyone is interested in this equipment, please post here and/or email me at blandfordfd@hotmail.com. I have 13 sets that need to go, however, I am not sure if ALL the sets will be available. We may keep a set or two for probationary/junior firefighters. Stay Safe

You should check with the fire school in your area. As a gear dealer, I get requests all the time from schools for used or reduced price gear. The students at the schools are very hard on the gear, so it needs to be replaced regularly. Just a thought.
The Massachusetts Firefighting Academy is the only "fire school" in our state. They require the cadets departments provide them with compliant gear. NFPA 1851 says that after 10 years, you must dispose of the gear. Now I know that NFPA is just a suggestion. However, it has been brought into court as a standard. That is why we have new gear. I know that there are departments that only dream of being NFPA compliant on anything. This is one thing that we have accomplished. I would like to see this stuff go to someone who needs it.
Sir,
Our department only has mix and match gear. We are asking what it would take to recieve yours.
Thank You,

Sir,
We could really use helments and boots. We would be greatful for anything you could come up with including rope or hand tools. We are a new department and our village is in fiscal emergency by the State of Ohio. We can only get equipment if it costs the village nothing.
Thanks again
Thomas

Let me ask my selectboard. I need their permission to donate the equipment anyway. I probably have 10 pairs of rubber boots. Maybe a few helmets. How are you set for turnouts?
Mix and match gear, mostly morning pride
Hi, I was just reading some other posts on the site and noticed your post. There is a post for a department in need of equipment saying that some of their members don't have any PPE at all, they have tried fundraising and other means but were unsuccessful and are now turning to the help of the brotherhood, if they are unable to get any help their members will have to purchase their gear out of their own pockets. Just thought you may be able to help them out. The web address he posted to contact if you were able to help out (tiny2406@aol.com)
Stay safe out there!
if you have a pair of womens size 8 boots that your willing to donate i would sure take em
our fire dept has only had 2 female firefighters since it was started, so its really hard to find small enough boots to fit the female juniors

Hi,

Just like Todd Posted, there are some departments that do not have any gear at all. I belong to one of those departments, most firefighters respond in coveralls due to lack of equipment. My volunteer brigade lacks PPE but has a tender. IOf you are willing to donate you can either ship to us or send to my family and they will ship here via Balikbayan Box. I am willing to pay for shipping costs and we can even give you a receipt for your donation. Not to mention we will take plenty of pics for you to see the gear being used. If you are able to help please let myself or Mike Vito know.

Take care and stay safe,

Jason
I am working on it everyone. All I need is my new gear and permission to donate the old gear to whomever I choose. I will not forget about you guys. Keep this post going. I may be able to help out multiple departments
That would be great, help out many of us.

Thanks for the post, its not often someone post offering gear.
God Bless the ones who care.
