Sigh, i dont really have a story behind my helmet,
Its orange obviously,
The juniors in my dept wear orange,
The helmet its self has actually saved my rear end on atleast one occasion, like, i was running across ice in my boots
and i slid and fell backwards and hit my head off of a big rock that was behind me
and my helmet impacted it haha
i got a dent on it somewhere
its too clean to look good though
gotta get it dirty
I hope you learned about running while on a scene. That would make a good story. Nice looking gear BTW. TCSS

well um. heres my helmet. Um the the reflecters I bought from Weston Sighns. The reflective decals are produced with a high-performance retro-reflective vinyl with engineer grade quality that meets the ASTM 4956-99 specifications. well um. no good stories. its just a helmet.
My old helmet was a white one becuase I was the Junior Cheif. I had that helmet for a couple years. No big stories about it. My new helmet is a regular black helmet. Much newer and nicer. =) No stories for that one either considering I've had it for about a month now.
well as a junior I am assuming (I know what that makes me) that you aren't doing interior attack. dirt and grime heats up faster than the rest of the helmet causing quicker break down (and possibly a future safety risk).
just giving you the heads up from someone who watched a member of another department stick his head in the window of a burning structure to make himself look bad___ and got chewed out so bad I was running, and I didnt do anything!
I have a N5A New Yorker that i bought in my own...I bought it because thats what my dad has and i want mine to look like his someday. My dads has seen sooo much fire it is dry rotting.
