Just go to their website, their still hiring. http://www.wsihq.com/iraq.asp
Thanks for responding. I saw their site I really was more looking for info on how they are to work for? what kind of reputation they have? how long the deployments are for? I saw some not so favorable press on them so I just wanted more info.
I’m not sure how they are to work for but it is a long process I thank I have been in it about 9 months and I’m at the end now, just waiting on my final letter from HR, they have been pretty cool to work with so far. If all goes well I’ll be leaving in April and I will let you know more. Sorry I can't give you more yet.
I worked for them for a year, not a great company to work for. The admin and HR are not helpful and most of them dont even know what they are doing.

You will make 6 figures, contract is for a year but you can leave whenever you want and they fly you home. OR just stick it out for 4 mths, pocket 30-40 grand leave for vacation and dont come back. Alot of guys do that, even officers.

I just started for KBR fire in the green zone and will be in the desert in a couple days. I have heard both good and bad for KBR but heard WAY more good. Plus to work in a firehouse by the new embassy in iraq and not stuck out in some desalite camp. I was in kirkuk and thats a good base. Amry and airforce, they do feed you good. Great gyms and mwr stuff to do. You will get some snow there in the winter and you can see the mountain range.

KBR is hiring now for afgan and i am not sure about iraq.
ITT is hiring for qatar
KBR fire will be out of kuwait june or july and dyncorp will be there, CSA is also there but I just found out they lost the contract.
Chugach in the marshall islands is always hiring- Paradise on earth there. Spent almost 2 years there!!

Any ????? just ask????
Thanks for your response sorry I took so long to thank you .....it seems I am pretty much out of the running for this type of job...unless I don't mind not being married anymore.....
for the money, take her with you...
I am considering leaving my current job with lack of hours to pursue a career in the private sector and build experience for my stateside resume. I am a NFPA FF1, Currently taking NFPA FF2, And WI EMT-Basic. I am also in class for my associate degree program in fire science, however my finances are putting that on hold. I am considering a private sector job to help pay for school when i get back and provide for starting a family once home. My question is this are those Certs eligible for DOD transfer? Does the experience requirements i read about mean career, or does my volunteer firefighting / Full time EMT experience count? If anyone is there or recently returned, are mortar attacks/ bombings still a part of daily life? I want to be able to re-assure my girlfriend, she is nervous enough about Firefighting let alone in a combat zone. I just want to get my career moving and a change in my job situation could not hurt. Any thoughts, advice, etc are appreciated.
FIrst off are your nfpa certs ifsac? The private sector only recognizes DOD,proboard and ifsac certs. When I was here in 2006 attacks happened all the time. Now that I am back here its almost uncommon to get an attack. Its alot better over here than the communist news in the states says it is. There is alot of downsizing here and military and civilians leaving by the numbers. Any firefighting experience is good. There are quite a few contract jobs open and many more opening soon. I would recommend gettting those certs. Good money to be made in the contract work!!!
I don't know, I don't Actually have a copy of my Certs, Just my Diploma from The Tech School. I checked the state database, and it say's that I am good, but I don't know IFSAC or not.
what state do you live in.Cause there are only a few states that think there special enough to have there own certification! lol
No but GOD BLESS THEM
My certs are in the State Of Wisconsin (State Of Milwaukee, Because Milwaukee is the only city I know who thinks they are better than a state, lol)
