If you were able to take your host firehouse and build it from scratch (using realism) what would be one thing you wouldn't forget to include. Larger Bays? Better lighting? Fitness room? Larger rec room?
Balls in your court. We are looking into a location, and potentially designing a firehouse in the future, so I'm looking at what you all say to try to jostle a memory of must haves.

Kitchen modern variety/Living quarters and showers/locker room upstairs and one pole for each 2 bays.kind of new but traditional.
A fitness center is important to me as well as a decent sized kitchen, living quarters, and larger bays.
Wow and I thought my station was bad. If ya want I can lend ya some lights. I'm just kidding
A lot of times it doesn't take flashy accomidations to make a firehouse work. It is like the differance between a house and a home. You can move into a house, it takes some time and Tender Love and Care to make it your home. If you all are happy with what you got, and are trying to improve as time goes by, thats all that matters
Oh I almost forgot AIR-CONDITIONING/HEAT. These are some very good qualities when upgrading a station.LMAO
More drains to wash inside we get 140 inches of snow a year. Drive through bays so never back in again. 100 Inch TV with a block on all training tapes being played on it..(SORRY I HATE TRAINING BY VIDEO) and last but not least super strong water pressure on showers.
Check out our website: www.wrtfd.org. Go under fire department news and look for Station 51 construction updates and see hte drawings and pictures of our new house. We did not put in a pole which I would have liked. Kitchen was set up industrial with stainless steel appliances and countertops. Individual bunkrooms, training room, rec room, weight room.
We would like a turn out room and a dedicated BA room.
We have as us aussies say FAR CALL......................
We had to raise our own 70K to build our function and training room on as an addition to what was provided.

Tight Asses......................
a place to dry hose and a gear washer and dryer those come in handy. also some kind of work bech so when you are working on air packs wether cleaning or maintance you have a place to work on them and the tools to do it with.
We are still finishing up our new building but already we see more room would be nice and maybe a bigger parking lot for ppls pov's
