Ok Ok Ok.....Sit down ... get ready for this...

So Im at work the other day and I decide to go thru all my pockets on my bunkers. Do a little inventory, a little clean up a little maintenance. Just normal takin care of business stuff.

Ive got my bunker coat and pants and Im taking stuff out one pocket at a time and doing what needs to be done and then returning those wonderful tolls back to their safe secure position in said pocket.

A new guy comes by...and although he is "new" he is also 30 something years old. So I pull out a razor knife from my rolled pouch and he walks by and says...and I quote "Hey, you should never carry anything that sharp. Someone could get hurt". . . And he was sooooooooooooooo serious it wasn't even funny.

Now I do admit to running with scissors when I was younger...but a fireman can't carry sharp tools???????

Whats next? Hey don't use that water...something might get wet!!!!

I can see it being funny but some might not. Guess you had to be there. Jake, I like your threads but don't only expect results you like. TCSS my friend.
Billy
Believe me I in no way expect to get results that only I like. Im thicker skinned then a Rhino.
Jake
Very funny!! I hope you and the rest of the guys ribbed him and continue to do so for a comment that he obviously did not engage his brain before opening his mouth.
Darn....the center to my punch is gone!!!!

lol@ career at HQ!!! No knives ...lol...gotta love the politicians. So can you have knives in the kitchen since it is department property?
You have got to be kiddin me
Maybe I can get some really nice sheep skin covers for my axe....you know like those big Shearling jackets people wear! Oh crap...can't sew em together...
needles=sharp= BAD!
I wonder if I can get "soft" blades for all my saws? sOMETHING IN A MAUVE MAYBE?
chow time!

tAPIOCA AND GRAVY!
Any of your probies nice enough to point out that the door wedges we carry are wood thus can burn and we should not carry wood wedges.
One of the brighter bulbs assigned to my company out of the academy was nice enough to inform us of that little gem.
I must not go to enough fires. 25 years and I have yet to see a wood wedge burst into flame on our helmets, in our pockets or strapped to the can.

Some things just make you have to say:

No @&%^ Sherlock.

Ok how many under 40 have heard that saying.
lol...No worries Scott...I once had a rookie that was so intent on making a good impression that after his first shift, we got a couple wedges outta the box..took them home...sanded them, stained them, and then varnished them....dim bulb???? We warned him, but he insisted ontaking them into the tower.....ONCE!
Well ok
Yup me too.....born in 1960 and still under 40!!!! And the burning wedges was hilarious. Oh btw...that was probably bout 8 years ago.....nickname....you got it ...WEDGES!!!!
