Some Drs will advise you to take large doses of Vitamin c...it will increase the PH level and supposedly reduce the chance of stones forming....If it is a cyst on your ovaries then it is either antibiotics or surgery...sorry to say...and you wouldn'r see a urologist but rather an OB-Gyn MD......Good luck......Paul
i know what u r going thru. my friend has the same thing... she usually has to go to hospital for shots for pain
with the exception of going to an emergency room for pain relief, there's not much you can do according to my wife who is an ER Trauma RN... unfortunately, cranberry juice is not going to be much help for you. you need to get your priorites straight here and get yourself fixed before any more drills young lady... you come first, not the deparment.
My wife as well Cranberry juice and water is what her doc. recommended to her. And of course the surgery or what not.
Stupid MD He is still waiting for what for you to pop one and get sick... Sorry my friend I wish you luck, but don't make yourself sicker for a test.. You will pay a price for it... Sorry.. Time for a new Dr..
Ovarian cysts are super painful! I hate to be the bearer of bad news but once you have one you will probably have more and the cysts frequently cycle along with your menstrual cycle. The ovaries alternate releasing eggs each month (ovulation), frequently the cystic ovary gets inflammed during the time it is ovulating. You may also feel more discomfort in that quadrant when you ovulate even if the cyst isn't enlarged that month. For me I usually start with the ibuprofen 2 days before I estimate ovulation ( it decreases the inflammation and mitigates some pain). Also, make an appointment with your gyn to get a pelvic exam, ask about endometriosis as those symptoms also include pelvic/abd pain due to endometrial cells escaping your uterus and attaching to other organs.
I hate to sound scary but your md doesn't seem to be either all that knowledable or have the ability to pursue the issue.
Don't be afraid to keep looking for a new md, I had to keep switching for several years until I actually found one that would listen to me.
Good Luck, stand up for yourself, you know your body better than anyone!!!
i think i screwed up.... the pain medicine made me feel better so i went to training anyway. We did air packs and crawled all over the station and were timed on how fast we can put our gear on and get air on. I thought i did ok for my first time at 3 mins 11 seconds but i think i really hurt something... my pain pills aint working now and i think i need to go to the doctor again... im about to die over here. im laying down on this bed with my lap top... prolly should have read those comments before going to training
Oh man, Jessica !

We wish you have read the rest of the posts. Okay, lets hope and pray your last training exercise is nothing that serious. For now, take care yourself first. As I said before, your advantage is being young. You have time to correct this.

About other members who posts about your cyst thing. If your in doubt, consult for second opinion (MD). TCSS, Mike
Jessica,

Aren't you a Junior? Therefore missing training should be the last thing on your mind. You have your whole life to train and be a firefighter.

Don't jepoardize your health for training at this early age in your career...
Sorry to hear....ive had stones twice now and they feel like there killing you.....flood yourself with fluids like crazy and hope you pass it....as for the pain...meds are the only help...again im sorry...hope you pass them soon...good luck
Since I am not a DOCTOR, I will tell you that FETC is correct.
You have, what is commonly referred to as an EXCUSED absence.
If you are hurting that much, why would you want to risk causing more serious problems by going to a training class that the training officer might very well let you make up down the road?
And you have a huge cyst on an ovary that you are waiting for it to pop?
My daughter-in-law went in Wednesday to have cysts removed from her ovaries-surgically.
Somehow, ovaries, cysts and "waiting to pop" don't fit in my points of reference.
Witch doctor are you going to?
TCSS.

Personally, I didn't have a real problem with you going to the training to just go and observe. But actually participating in a live drill, putting your body under that much stress and endurance? And you knew better.

You did not use good judgement here and it could cause you problems down the road should you have further complications and ever think about getting pregnant. Think about what you are giving up her girl. I remember a young girl who totally bled out from a ruptured ovarian cyst on at least four occasions during my career as a field paramedic.

I love this job and I know you do as well, but it's not worth dying over. Nothing is. Get your head on straight girl. You are gambling with your long term health and mental well being. Listen to these posts.
