Hello, I was wondering if people routinely pull their cameras off the trucks and any unique uses that you might have found for its use.....Thanks....Paul
We use ours at every structure that we save. We look for the hot spots in the walls, floors roof lines and all. It has helped us in multiple ways other than for Search and Rescues
Allen, thanks for the reply....have you thought about using it at MVA's..?? Leaked liquids esp combustables give off fumes and you can actually "see" the fumes through your camera....also...with the new low sulfur diesel the tanks have a preheater in the fuel tanks to make the diesel easier to ignite...Nice to know....Stay safe....I am sure there are many more uses that people can share with us....Thanks again.....Paul

Overhaul mostly
we also use em when we go to reported smoke or smell of something burning.
I think that it good to use them because it looks bad when you go to a fire leave and get called back there later because the firew was still burning in the walls, and no one check to see if it was there
We use them for the items listed above. MVA's when there is a possibility if there was someone else in the car that may have been ejected at night calls. And don't forget to look up in the trees also.
We use ours whenever we can. We paid damn good money for it, so we might as well get some us out of it.
Ours is utilised mostly for overhaul and clean up, we've also used it on the ol' "smell of smoke" calls. We have also used them on the initial entry, the backup man loops the strap around him and more or less directs the nozzle man where to go.
We use ours all the time. We have an MSA Revalution 5000. We use it to find those stuborn hard to find smokey fires, chimney fires, to make sure there's no fire extension. We have used to find lost people in the woods at night(you could see the deer everywhere), searching for ejection patients on MVA calls. During mop up operations. We've even used it to find hot wiring on an oder investigation. It comes in handy for checking the perimeter at brush fires responses. A great tool!!
