While on duty one day, we were standing on the front pad of our HQ, and we heard the sound of tires sliding ,brakes squealing , and saw a car rolling over right in front of us. The car rolled 3 times and stopped on its roof. Myself and my Lt ran to the car while the engineer got the engine out. The Lt and I both, expected to see a dead driver, or at the very least,an injured one. When we got to the car the driver got out of the passenger side window, and walked over to us. We looked him over and could find nothing wrong with him, and to top it all off, he told us he wasn't wearing a seat belt. I guess God really does look out for children, drunks, and FOOLS.
We had witnessed an MVA on our way back from an AFA . It was snowy and the women slid on the snow and went like a sling shot, hit a tree and wound up down a bank on an angle that we had to secure the car and cut the door off to get her out, as she was headed to the ambulance she asked the firefighters to get her groceries out of the car..It was 2 items and it was just weird to hear her ask that...
We had a call that a woman was driving way to fast for conditions. Needless to say she lost control on a up hill curve that is commonly iced over. She proceeded to roll 13 times up the hill. Coming to a rest on the roof of her brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Never broke a window with all the doors locked and the keys in the ignition somehow she got out without a scratch. But the most odd thing about it was that shortly after we arrived on scene and checked out the patient, there appeared a patch of blood underneath the vehicle. Upon questioning the patient about anyone riding with her she said there was not. And we of course were concerned to a great extent. So we used airbags to lift the vehicle and find out the cause. What we found was shocking. A very unlucky deer, that was a fresh roadkill hit by the same vehicle as it came to rest on it's roof.
The power went out in a good majority of the Borough last night, 911 dispatched us a call for a lift assist. The little old lady needed help getting out of her motorized recliner chair :shakes head: We gladly obliged though, of course.
