So after probably fifteen years of this nasty habbit I have just about decided it is time to give it up. I guess my question is any of you guys, or girls, that have done this sucessfully have any advise? What works best, or what has worked for you. This is definately something I want to do, but sadly I am afraid of failure. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I quit cold turkey about 18 years ago. It worked for me although I'm told I was quite the irritable a$$hole to be around for awhile! Best of luck to you, you won't regret it! Stay safe!
I quit cold turkey abo 6 years ago. If i have a cig now the next day my lungs hurt. Quitting was the smartest thing ive done!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
I quit cold turkey about 18 years ago. It does take willpower. You really have to want to do it. It actually took me a good 6 mos to finally not miss smoking. My wife tells me now that I am the worst smoker there is..... A reformed one! She still smokes my to my shegrin. I smoked up to 3 packs a day. If I can do it, so can you!!! If you seek out medical help, just do the required reading and ask questions of your physician and pharmacist. Good luck. You will certainly feel better!

Quit cold turkey! Remeber after 3 days the nicotine is out of your system, after that it is just the habit of putting it to your mouth. Just tell yourself one day at a time, I am not going to smoke today! If your the religious type, ask for help in the morning and offer thanks for making it at the end of the day. I quit after 15 yrs. Also, and I am sure this is not recommended, I would throw down some beers the first few nights to help sleep......Good Luck and remember it takes a lot of people 6 -12 times trying to quit before they actually do!
i have been smokin since i will liek 12...i have tried quitting and just went back to it... now i cant even try to quit
All come on you will be able to quit if you put your mind to it.
