Good luck with that! I haven't even seen them on ebay for less than 200. Most of them are about the same price as a brand new up to date one. I'll keep my eyes open for you though.

yea, i checked E-bay, and craigslist, and a couple of fire forums i'm part of...

anyway, it seems that no one thinks that old broken helmets are worth trying to sell :/

I dont know about that Mike , More then likely many of the old and broken helmets are getting sent back for potential refurb by owners, and municipalities thatused to haveem dont buy em anymore because of cost, and even if the had one chances are they would destroy it Rather then rishk any potential for liability fearing someone would buya wreck and try to wear it and get themselves killed.. Big Department Caches don't exist anymore no department can afford 400 leathers@ 400 dollars each, along with 2 sets of bunker gear per person, a couple sets of boots either leather or... pumps @450,000 per each ..etc etc.. you have to keep watching, they pop up occasionally....
