I know sometimes its optional. Actually I would like to know what everyone does with their gear. Do you keep it at the station, leave it in your vehicle or at the back door for all to trip over?

I have two sets of gear. I have my EMS gear and I also have my fire gear. I keep them in my vehicle. It is optional but sometimes can be a problem.
My EMS group takes all our gear, unirorms, etc to our private homes. The fire department I help out at as the members keep their turnout gear at the station, but anything else they keep at their personal homes. I have my utility belt, a shirt, and my gear bag ready to go at my door in case my EMS group gets called out.
I keep mine in my gear bag and in my truck.
At my station it is required for all to keep their gear at station unless they live more than five minutes out with the thought of keeping pov's at the scene to a minimum as well as it makes guys go to the engine house and man the apparatus. I have two sets of gear (both are my personal, not company issue) and I kept them both at the station until I became Assistant Chief. Now I have one at station and one in my pov in case I go to the scene direct although I go to the station first 95% of the time
Leather boots are a godsend!!
All of our bunker gear is kept at the station in the Equipment Van. That is the second vehicle to roll when we get toned out for in town calls. All of our wild land gear is kept in lockers at the station. Nothing is kept in POVs because we are not allowed to take our POV to a scene. It works really well for us.
I keep my ems gear at home or in my car, and my fire gear at the station, don't want that dirty stuff around my kids- but i only live a few blocks away, so it is easily accessible even if i miss the truck!
I leave it in a gear bag in my truck and have a set at the station.
Just like TDFD29 said we're not allowed to carry it in our vehicles. It stays at the station so nothing gets lost and it is allowed to dry on our racks if it gets wet.
i leave it at a dept but i all so got my own in my pov just in case if you know what i saying lol
mine is at the station, im new so my gear stays there anyway but i think ill keep it there when my 1 year probation is up. i live 2 min. away
It is required that we keep our gear at the station. Everyone has a place for thier gear.
