This looks like a question for whoever programmed your pager. We have an in-house guy that does ours but just by the names it is hard to tell. Sorry i didnt have an exact answer for you. Good luck with it and stay safe.

Usally A is tone alert-silent until your tones go off then your pager goes off.
B is vibrate alert -Same as above but with virbrate,no beep
C open scan-usually main channel-can hear everything
D scans between 2 freqs.
Ours is set up as follows:
A. Alert the pager beeps when we have an alarm.

B. Is open so we can monitor the county dispatch. It will still beep when dispatched.

c. Vibrates when we have an alarm.

D. Vibrates and beeps when we have a call. "Why the Chief set this channel up this way don't know."
Jacob: This is what should happen:

A-St Albans tone alert (pager stays muted until St. Albans tones are activated, then pager will beep)

B-St Albans monitor alert (you will hear everything on channel and pager will beep when St. Albans tones are sent)

C-Priority Scan between 1 and 2 (you will hear activity on both channels, pager may beep if one or the other set of tones is activated)

D- Volunteer FD Tone alert. (pager is muted until Volunteer FD tones are activated, pager will then beep)

There are two choices with the Minitor 3 pagers - either alert or vibrate. The alert mode can either be an interrupted tone alert (beeping) or a continuous tone (long beeeeeep).
Thank you all. I'm just waiting for it to go off now. LOL!!!!!! It usully rings off the hook . Maybe we'll get sometin here in a bit. On scan,(which I have never used A,B or D) Does not beep. Now that I found the paper work , now I know tht the pager alerts.
So , otherwise , the pager will make more noise than JUST the tone off correct?
The alert could be any number of thigs it could be a solid beep or a series of beeps eg beep-beep-beep. It should be a high pitched beep. hope that helps

Gopher
Either alert will be no traffic unless that tone is hit by dispatch. Then the tone will send a signal to the pager and will set off the beeping sound. then traffic will be heard. On scan you should be able to hear radio traffic if eather of those two channels are used for talking in your county.
