I am hoping to see some ideas, demonstrating unconventional ways that other emergency responders use and modify various pieces of equipment.
Example: Using Prusik cord and a roofman's hook as a quick attic ladder.
Example: using golf tees to plug a broken fuel line on a car.

I have seen some things like those that I have listed as examples. I would like to explain the prusik cord/roofman's hoof idea that I was talking about. When you need a attic ladder, and you don't really have time to go out to the truck or feel like waiting for someone to bring one to you, you can use a roofman's hook and a prusik to make a quick one. You simply loop the prusik through itself, over and around the head of the hook, get the hook in a stable position and use the prusik cord as a step. You will not get the elevation like you would from an attic ladder, but it's handy when that is all that you have at the time. I recommend it only with all metal hooks, I wouldn't trust all of my weight on fiberglass.

Thanks to www.vententersearch.com, I have found this picture to demonstrate. One of my friends showed me the technique and I have been wondering where he learned it, then I found this.
