Hey these are some nice looking trucks. but for the color of the apparatus is traditionaly red, for the honor of being a firefighter, i cant remember at this time what else the red stands for.

But tadition and color set aside, does the public recognize the function and step a side so we can do our jobs, and does the color affect the opperations of the equipment. Me personaly am sided towards the red trucks. I have no pics right now but will try to get some.
this is our 04' freightliner crew cab, pumper/tanker holds 3000 gallons of water and 107 gallons of class b araff foam

Doesn't get any better than this.

That black over red is sharp. Thats a nice looking rig.
Thanks, Jim. The red is the same as Dodge uses on the Viper. Stay safe!
You guys have some really nice equipment if you don't mind me saying.
down here in Ky we have all 3 colors of trucks... some stations have all three colors, some have just slime lime and white, some just white, and some just red... It varies

Fire apparatus should be RED! fire trucks have been red since the beginning and should remain as such. That being said now, it's all a personal preference I guess. I know 1 local FD that has white trucks.
At my old department we had white trucks with blue stripes. We also had red and blue light bars on them. The state police and the county police said nothing about this and to this day they still run red and blue's. But I read in a book somewhere that a firefighter was quoted as saying "If people don't see the flashing lights and hear the sirens, then they are too impaired to notice a flashy paint scheme." I've always kinda agreed with that. But ours are all red with the exception of our newest engine. It's red with a white top.
I think that trucks should be red, however I have seen some trucks that look great with many diffrent color schemes. I feel that the color should be what goes with their department.
Red Fire Trucks!!!!!!!! White???????? LOL
red with a 1-3-1 (inches) stripe down the side.
in LAFD all of our vehicas look like this ..except our crash rigs and
airport vehicals plus our dozer units..which are all yellow
