We just went with the Globe g extreme and hands down it has been the best gear. It has the belt on the bunkers so it takes alot of weight off your shoulders. which you all know is nice when your in them for a long time. The coat has nice big pockets for gear and nice pockets for your hands. One of the best things bout the coat is it had the DRD. (drag rescue device) which i have not had to use in a live situation thank god but we have used them for training and they work well and have time when you don't have to put on a harness. That is why i believe that globe is the way to go
all new bunkers must have the DRD installed on them, per NFPA. so its not just globe. But with my gear i prefer Globe. In the past i have used lion, globe, and morning pride. Globe is my favorite, good company that is up with all the new fabrics that make it so much better and lighter. morning pride i like over lion...
boots egh, i would go with thorogood. there like a pair of tennis shoes and you can actually fell the pedal when driving.
Ed hit the nail on the head, we use globe and always have with no complaints:)
I have one of two pair of g-extremes in our department, and
i wouldnt trade them for anything. As far as boots go i have leather black diamond but I want some of the new globes.
